Abstract

Automotive Electronics is an increasingly important part of the vehicle. A significant part of the vehicle’s characteristics is defined by software and electronics. New and advanced features are introduced, and an unprecedented flexibility in performance and capabilities has emerged. On the down-side, the product cost and development effort are increasingly influenced by the electronic contents. Worse, development delays and warranty claims have a new contributor. This talk will describe a selection of challenges for the development of vehicle electronics, and systems modelling solutions as a means to address them. Topics included are modelling abstraction levels, analysis and prototyping, product families, validation and verification, information exchange.
